Games People Play has over 20 years as a successful golf retailer and entertainment complex. Games People Play provides a full range of golf products and feature an onsite golf trainer, driving range, and batting cages. In addition to their retail growth in their brick and mortar store they have also had great success with their eBay division selling new and used golf products. Their eBay growth increased their need for a true online storefront with the capabilities to sell goods on their own eCommerce website. Like many other successful companies, they began looking at national companies to provide their eCommerce solution. One company they considered was responsible for their point-of-sale and inventory software while another was considered because of their role in creating a website for one of their biggest competitors. In the end, they found that the limitations of the national providers in comparison to the benefits of a custom eCommerce website with Turning Minds Media would allow for a more professional looking website, consistent marketing materials, as well as many more product and marketing options.
The Project
Turning Minds Media provided initial consulting and planning for the design and development of their website and online marketing plan. Our services included extensive interviewing for fact finding and product and market awareness which resulted in a more effective design, product display and online marketing plan. We also assisted in the selection process of their SSL certificate for securing customer data on the website as well as selecting a merchant provider for their integrated credit card processing on the website. Turning Minds Media also assisted in product implementation of over several hundred products and initial site population to expedite the launch of the website. We also provided brochures, news paper ads, banner ads, and mass email campaigns.
